Winter is coming. In addition to the familiar "Siberian cold wave", another estimate is "haze". Due to poor air mobility in winter, frequent cold air activities, less precipitation and low air humidity, it gives people the illusion that haze appears only in winter, but in fact it occurs all year round. Haze can cause respiratory system, eye, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Our magic weapon to deal with haze is to rely on air cleaning at home and masks when going out.
But is air purifier really useful?

According to relevant literature and experiments, air purifiers can indeed improve indoor air quality in haze days. Turning on the air purifier indoors is equivalent to that you can get the protection of the anti haze mask in the room, but you do not need to endure the discomfort brought by the mask.
1、 Clean air quantity Cadr: the key performance index of air purifier. The larger the value, the stronger the purification capacity and the larger the applicable area. However, the Cadr value decreases with the use time.
2、 Cumulative purification amount CCM: it can be understood as the life of the purifier. The larger the value, the greater the endurance of the purifier and the longer the usable time.
3、 Energy efficiency grade: the air purifier should not only "purify" but also "save energy". The national standard "energy efficiency limits and energy efficiency grades of air purifiers" (GB 36893-2018) will be implemented on December 1, 2019. The energy efficiency level of the air purifier is divided into three levels, of which level 1 is the highest. Just like household refrigerators, the smaller the level, the better.
4、 Noise level: the air purifier will generate noise during operation. Taking the hearing of ordinary people as an example, 20 to 40 decibels (DB) are like whispers and relatively quiet, while 40 to 60 decibels (DB) are equivalent to ordinary indoor conversations. More than 60 decibels (DB) are noisy, and long-term exposure to noise will affect physical and mental health. The operating sound of the air purifier is different under different air volume settings. Generally, the living room needs to select the air purifier with the noise below 55 dB during normal operation, and the bedroom needs to use the air purifier with the noise below 35 dB.
5、 Applicable area: the applicable area is selected according to the purification capacity (Cadr value, usually for particulate matter) of the air purifier. Because the pollutants, building standards and ventilation conditions of various rooms are different, the "applicable area" is only a reference index. Applicable area = (0.07 ~ 0.12) × CADR.
